LETTER FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Dear YMCA Members and Friends,
What a great time to be a part of the West Communities YMCA! We have reached some wonderful milestones in 2009. As many of you know, 2009 completed our second year of Summer Day Camp with great success. Our staff performance is at an all-time high.
Our annual and staff giving has increased. Our programs are growing. And above all, we have positioned ourselves to support our families who are experiencing financial difficulty in these trying times. We have you, our members, our donors and our participants, to thank for these victories. As we embark on our tasks for 2010, we continue to look to you to make it all happen. As Josiah Gilbert Holland said, "There is no royal road to anything. One thing at a time, all things in succession. That which grows fast, withers as rapidly. That which grows slowly, endures."
We are growing slowly but surely as a family as well as a community. It is during these tough economic times that we must pull together. Families are depending on the work that we do more now than ever before. Your support, whether through membership dues, campaign contributions, or program participation, has allowed us to endure and help these families enjoy opportunities that otherwise would have been compromised for the sake of financial stability.
In 2010 we would like to encourage you to get healthy, stay healthy and live happy. Tell a neighbor, a friend, or perhaps a rival, that the West Communities YMCA cares about the health and well-being of those who enter our doors and aims to meet the needs of those who are not sure where to begin. It all starts right here!
Sincerely,
Rose Lane Brown,
Executive Director
