Springing Into Changes
Dear YMCA Family and Friends,
This winter took us by surprise ... but is it really a surprise when we live in Chicago? Now that winter is officially over, I am proud to say that many of you did not hibernate, and it was great to see you all committed to your fitness goals.
As many of you have noticed, we've made some great changes to the facility and with the staff. With our new fitness equipment upgrade, facility maintenance, friendly new faces, and great January promotion, we brought in 234 more memberships during our January Campaign. I can't thank the South Chicago Y staff enough for all of their dedication to reaching our goal. Anthony Lopez, Membership Coordinator, and his team of Noel Allen, Dago Cahue, Chantal Rounds and Steven Williams really committed to going the extra mile. Additionally, with the assistance of program staff for lending a hand whenever needed. Teamwork is Y!
With spring comes the inevitable "spring cleaning." Over the next few months you will not only see a difference in major deep cleaning but also some renovations - some smaller than others - that will make a difference in the look of the South Chicago Y. Again, it's the staff of the South Chicago Y that continues to make it work through hard work and dedication. That's not to say we couldn't use a few helping hands. If you, or someone you may know, has the skill, capability or just the act of wanting to give back, then please speak with any employee of the South Chicago Y to let us know what you can do to help. Your help in any project will go miles! Volunteering is Y!
As we spring into these changes, feeling the fresh air brush against our cheeks, birds chirping and the smell of flowers blooming, remember to get a dose of the Y before you catch the spring fever! Remain consistent with your fitness routine in order to achieve or maintain your fitness goals. Find a workout buddy who will keep you motivated and engaged. During the warmer months we have decided to make a couple changes to some of our classes by taking them outdoors. This way our members feel less confined - and a little change is always good! Stay committed because You are Y!
