The Y is a place where strangers come together and leave as friends. Last year, we lost one such friend, Richard Pease. His passing was marked by both sadness and a sense of celebration. You see, his family and friends came together to celebrate Richard's life and memory by establishing the Richard Pease Memorial Fund.
The Y was very important to Richard; he visited the Y 221 times in his last year of membership. For this reason, his family decided to dedicate the fund to providing Y scholarships to active older adults in need. Through this fund, we have been able to provide scholarships to active older adults impacted by health conditions, job loss and loss of family. Richard's memory lives on by allowing these members the chance to benefit from the type of relationships Richard celebrated throughout his life. Richard, you will always be a member of the Y family.
