Our newest employee is Rolinda Stevenson, also known as "Ro." Ro joined our staff in February 2010 as a Front Desk Customer Service Representative. She has been a member of the High Ridge YMCA since around 1988, at which time Ro and husband, Stanley, enrolled their daughter, Autumn, in the "After School and Adventure Camp Programs." They participated in and loved the High Ridge YMCA's family activities, especially the annual year-end picnics at Camp Hastings.
Autumn remained an active YMCA member, joining the Teen Club and Camp Counselor Programs, until she graduated from high school. Upon graduation, Autumn applied for and received scholarship funds for college from the YUSA.
Ro is a sincere believer that involvement in the YMCA helps build strong individuals and maintain families! As a member of the Team Dream Triathlon Team and Max Fitness Running Club, Ro and her teammates have consistently used the YMCA to train for such events as the Danskin Women's Triathlon, and the Chicago 1/2 and Full Marathons.
After losing her Mom in April, 2008, Ro and her four brothers got through their grief by working out at the YMCA and training for the August 2008 South Shore Tri and Tri-Masters Invitational Kids Triathlon. They successfully completed the sprint distance triathlon as a family in honor of their Mom; and, they continue to work out at the YMCA to maintain their spiritual connection!
Rolinda is a great addition to our team and a true champion of the YMCA Mission.
