Letter from the Executive Director

Dear YMCA Members and Friends

Summer is here! It's time to slow down and savor the season. As summer heats up, families search out ways to keep cool. A favorite of many families, young and old, is a trip to the pool. Knowing how to swim means that you'll be much safer and can even save your life.

Then, of course, there's always the fun factor; being able to swim means that you won't miss out on pool parties, swimming while on vacation and snorkeling in the ocean. You won't have to worry when you're at a water park or near a river, a lake or a swimming pool. Getting kids involved in swimming lessons while they're young can decrease their fear in water. Here at the Lattof YMCA we offer a wide range of swimming lessons. Pick up a copy of our Summer Program Guide or visit us on line at www.lattofymca.org for classes and schedules, its never too late to learn how to swim.

Summer is also a time for family. Now, more than ever, it is becoming more important to find things to do that involve simplicity, and even more importantly, spending less money. When you take your family to spend a day
at Lattof YMCA, you allow your whole family time to exercise and learn new activities together. This summer we would like to invite your family and friends to a day atthe Y. Every Friday now through Labor Day is FREE guest day. Bring your out-of-town guests. Challenge them to a game of handball or racquetball. Impress them with your rock climbing skills. Have the kids show off their newly acquired swimming skills to Grandma and Grandpa!

For the teenagers, check out our skate park, or just relax in our Activities Center and enjoy the benefits of a Sauna.

The Lattof YMCA is the place where everyone can belong this summer.

David Rodriguez,
Executive Director
