Member Relations Activities
This past March, the Grayslake YMCA began offering "monthly games and activities" to our members. We started with Bingo, which was a huge success. Each day, members came into the Y and anxiously checked their cards to see if they had the winning number. We started out slow with members wondering if there would ever be a winner, then one day I was in my office and I heard Jenni Sas one of our Member Relations Staff yell loudly, BINGO!
Within a few minutes, their was a buzz around the center. People were all talking about there being a "bingo winner"! You would have thought we were giving away an all-expense-paid trip to Las Vegas, rather than a small gift from Oriental Trading Company! We had over 60 members win at Bingo. We posted their pictures in the center, where members gathered to see "who the lucky winners were each day."
Our members were sad to see Bingo end but were more than happy to participate in our April event "Lucky Ducks." As the ducks swam/circled around the pond, members would have an opportunity to pick the winning "lucky duck." If they did, they would win a prize. We had over 100 winners. A picture of their face was placed on a duck shape on our bulletin board, so once again the winners could "bask in the glory" of their good fortune.
We are just starting our Bloomin' Boogle game for May. During the first week's game we had six winners. We will continue offering a variety of games for our members to participate in throughout the year, so make sure you visit us often. You don't want to miss out on the fun!
