Greetings from the Executive Director
Dear Leaning Tower YMCA Members and Friends,
It is my great pleasure to greet you as we are getting into the swing of summer. For those of you who are new to the Leaning Tower YMCA, I welcome you and hope that you and your family will find that the Leaning Tower YMCA is the place that you belong.
As many of you are aware, on Feb 22, I became a mom, and my son, Kylin, became the newest member of the LTY family. As I stand in the shoes of a new mother, I daily gain a new perspective on the meaning of the word "family." It is a part of the mission of the YMCA to build strong kids, strong families and strong communities. It is my hope that the Leaning Tower YMCA is a part of your family and your community, and that we are your home away from home.
On Thursday, May 6, we held an Open House at the Leaning Tower YMCA. The event's purpose was to connect our members with both our Board of Directors and our leadership staff with the intent of bringing the LTY family closer together. Over 150 people joined us and learned more about our facility, our programs and our Strong Kids Campaign. I hope we were able to connect with you. Whether you are an active older adult, a family with children or an individual adult we hope to engage you as part of the LTY family.
As a not-for-profit, charitable organization, it is part of the YMCA mission to make our membership and programs available to everyone despite their ability to pay. I am proud to be a part of the mission, which provides an opportunity for many individuals and families to share in the YMCA experience. Thanks to those of you who have helped make this happen for individuals in our community, especially in this economic environment.
This year, we are asking you to give ten dollars, a hundred dollars, even a thousand dollars with your heart. Your support may give a family the opportunity to spend time and be active together. Please allow me to thank you in advance for your generosity and support.
