Are you looking for training to be prepared for a first aid emergency? You are now able to take a First Aid and Adult, Child and Infant CPR class here at Foglia YMCA. You will become American Red Cross certified in Standard First Aid and Adult, Child and Infant CPR.

Become trained in the knowledge and skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. You will be trained as an American Red Cross Lifeguard, includinging First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer.

Masters Swimming is a great way to get the most out of your laps in the pool. It is designed as a competitive workout for swimmers.
Whether you are interested in competition or just getting in shape, we can help you with your strokes. Swimmers need to have basic knowledge of competitive strokes. Swimming with other people led by a trained coach will help you stay motivated. The coach will also help you improve your endurance and stroke technique.

(All Levels) Your Personal Trainer will design a fun and challenging aquatic exercise program. This personalized program will include a balance of resistance and cardio training to meet your specific goals. Workouts will focus in on a variety of options such as weight loss, strength, or range of motion and flexibility. This is also a great program for rehabbing an injury!
Aqua Personal Training is available for anyone over age 12. Partner and small group training is also available. Fees for Aqua Personal Training are consistent with the personal training fees. Please contact the Aquatics Director, David Zielinski, 847.410.5383 for more information.

Water Works: (Shallow Water/Lap Pool) This high-energy class is set to music and held in the shallow and deep areas of the lap pool. It includes an initial stretching session, extended aerobic workout, toning and cool down. Resistance, buoyancy and acceleration will be used to alter the intensity. What a great choice to get your heart pumping and muscles toned!
Aquatone 101: (Shallow Water/Warm Water Pool) This water recreational class provides opportunity for individuals with arthritis, fibromyalgia and related conditions, as well as any individual who wants to exercise without joint and muscle strain in a low-impact class emphasizing flexibility and movements at the participant's pace. This class incorporates the use of noodles and weights. No swimming skills required.
YMCA Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program: (Shallow Water/Warm Water Pool) This is an Arthritis Foundation program of gentle water exercise for all ages with arthritis, fibromyalgia and related conditions, as well as any individual who wants to exercise without joint and muscle strain. The soothing warmth and buoyancy of exercising in the warm water pool will help decrease stiffness in joints, improving range of motion and muscle endurance. A doctor's note is required for participation.
No Impact Aqua Serenity Class: (Shallow Water/Warm Water Pool) Gentle water exercise designed not just for seniors - but for all ages. This class is for anyone who wants to exercise without joint and muscle strain. You will improve the quality and productivity of everyday life activities as a result of the class. The soothing class uses water buoyancy and resistance to help improve range of motion and muscle endurance. This class not only allows you to exercise weightlessly in the water, but is a class filled with humor, personal attention, serenity and kindness.
Movin' Mamas: (Shallow Water/Lap Pool) This class is for expecting mothers or mothers who have recently had a child and are looking for a great workout that would meet their special needs. This class will focus on appropriate exercises and will provide a cardiovascular and muscle-toning workout for the new mother and the mother-to-be. This is also a great place to make new friends, get time out before the baby comes and talk to other new moms-to-be and experienced moms.
Aqua Action: This class is held in all depths of water and includes an initial warmup, intervals of intense cardio and muscle conditioning and a cool down. Noodles and hand bars are utilized for increased intensity and the class is set to music. Flotation belts are available.
The Splash: (Shallow Water and Deep Water/Lap Pool) This is a high energy water exercise class with a splash of choreography set to music. Noodles and dumbells are utilized to get a complete body workout. No swimming skills required.
Balance and Flow: (Shallow Water/Warm Water Pool) A great class for anyone seeking a low impact opportunity to exercise in the middle of the day. This well-rounded class will concentrate on flexibility, range of motion, strength, and getting some cardio in as well. As you exercise you will feel the soothing quality of warm water relaxing your joints.
Cross Currents: This one-hour advanced class consists of a 5-minute warm up, a 10-minute cardio and/or core strengthening segment, and 8, 5-minute segments using various equipment as well as a 5-minute cool down. Participants should be comfortable in the water and able to swim without a flotation belt.
Aqua Zumba: Join the Pool Party with water-based resistance exercises to Latin rhythms. Saturday Morning Water Fitness: This class has a rotating instructor schedule from our instructors during the week, and they change your workout up on a weekly basis. A good way to start your weekend.
