Teen & Adult Fitness

Group Fitness Classes are open to anyone age 12 and up and they are FREE with membership.* Feel free to come in and try our classes. New to class? Stop by 10 minutes early to meet the instructor and get the scoop.

*Teens 12-15 must be accompanied by a parent for the first class. Minimum age for Body Pump® is 16.

Fitness Center Policies

 

The Greater LaGrange YMCA is committed to providing a clean, safe and healthy experience for all members and guests. In doing so, we ask that participating members act in accordance of the principles set forth in this policy.

For privacy purposes, no cell phones are allowed in the fitness center. All cell phone usage is limited to lobby areas. Food and beverages, other than clear liquids, are not allowed. Personal items, such as bags, coats, keys, wallets, etc. are to be stored in the locker rooms.

We believe that these actions will benefit the members, guests and staff of the Greater LaGrange YMCA by improving the quality of the environment. These policies reaffirm our commitment to providing a space that is completely dedicated to the balance of spirit, mind and body.

 

Adult Fitness - Commit To Be Fit

 

Getting started on this is easy. To sign up for Commit to be Fit, simply stop by the membership desk and schedule your first appointment with your fit coach. Activtrax is FREE with Commit to be Fit - take advantage of this state-of-the-art program! If you are a new member or a long-time member, this is a great way to get to a healthier you! Best of all, it's FREE to members.

 

ActivTrax

 

This revolutionary program is FREE for Greater LaGrange YMCA members! ActivTrax is a web-based virtual trainer program that takes the guesswork out of your workout. We've all been there - wondering what exercises to do, when to do them or even how to do them. That's why we've brought you ActivTrax. This "virtual trainer" serves as your workout partner and understands your wants, needs and goals. It's simple to use, very effective and easy to get started.

5-Step Strength Test: Simply take a quick 5-step strength test and then perform the prescribed exercises using the weights and reps on your workout that you can print from your home computer or the ActivTrax kiosk at the Y.

Customized Workouts: ActivTrax creates a new workout for you with every visit to the Y - keeping things fresh and interesting. It tells you which equipment to use, how to set the weights and how long to rest between sets. There's even an online exercise library that shows you how to perform the exercises correctly. ActivTrax is for every member at every level - beginner, intermediate or advanced - it guides you, tracks your progress and challenges you on your terms.

Weekly Meal Plan: ActivTrax offers an optional nutrition component that complements your workout routine. Once you enter your personal information, it provides a weekly meal plan to help you meet your goals. It will even give you a shopping list that you can print and take to the grocery store.
